The CLOG ZAPPER removes clogs in enteral feeding devices. It combines an “enzyme cocktail”, antimicrobial agents, buffers, metal inhibitors and acids in a ready-to-use system that will unclog your enteral feeding tubes. Ready-to-Use System
CLOG ZAPPER contains ingredients that work together to loosen, break down and dislodge clogs. In clinical usage, CLOG ZAPPER was successful in restoring patency to feeding tubes clogged with enteral formulas over 75% of the time.
Nine times more effective in declogging the feeding tubes than flushing alone, the CLOG ZAPPER is efficient and cost-saving.

Indications for Use
CLOG ZAPPER Enteral Feeding Tube Declogging System is used to clear certain types of blockages, primarily enteral feeding formulations, which may occur in enteral feeding tubes.
Warning: Not for IV use. For enteral use only.

Storage Requirements: CLOG ZAPPER, once reconstituted, should be used within 24 hours. Refrigerate mixture while not in use.
Caution: Protective eyewear is strongly suggested. CLOG ZAPPER can cause irritation if it gets in contact with the eyes.
Recommendations
- Prior to using CLOG ZAPPER, make sure any visible tubing is free of kinks.
- USE SYRINGES FOUND IN KIT.
- Depending on the location of the clog in the feeding tube, the Applicator might not reach it. THIS IS OK. CLOG ZAPPER will find and clear the obstruction.
- Use CLOG ZAPPER upon FIRST acknowledgement of a CLOGGED tube to maximize the success of CLOG ZAPPER!
- Check to see if patient is allergic to food-based ingredients .
- Use the included 4 in. x 4 in. gauze pads to clean up any spills caused by the Applicator or syringes.
- Always check to see if patient is on a water restricted intake program.
- Amount of fluid used should always be recorded in patient’s intake/output volumes.
- CLOG ZAPPER might not work on some clogs resulting from certain medications. Remember to use liquid medications if possible; crush pills thoroughly. It is not recommended to use enteric coated pills in feeding tubes.

Instructions for NG and J-Tube Use
- Turn feeding pump OFF and close roller clamp on administration set.
- Remove Y-Adapter cap and insert CLOG ZAPPER Applicator Tubing into feeding tube.
- If it is not possible to place the applicator all the way into the feeding tube, the distal end of the applicator may be pressing against the clog. If this is the case, take out the applicator and trim the applicator tubing to the appropriate length. Do not try to break up the clog with the distal end of the applicator.
- Remove syringe cap and fill the CLOG ZAPPER* Syringe to 10 ml mark with water.
- Replace syringe cap and shake vigorously for 3-5 minutes until all powder is dissolved.
- Gently fill tube with recommended dosage of 2-5 ml of CLOG ZAPPER solution.
- Remove applicator from tube. Plug tube (Keep APPLICATOR and SYRINGE together with patient if procedure must be repeated.)
- Keep solution in tubing for 60 minutes / 30 minutes minimum.
- Fill oral syringe with 6 ml of water
- FLUSH! with 6 ml of WATER. After tube clears, dispose per institution’s protocol and resume feeding.
Note: If tubing cannot be flushed, REPEAT steps thru . Always check with physician to determine how many times the process can be repeated.
Instructions For G-Tube Use
- Cut APPLICATOR at dot.
- Discard excess tubing.
- Place APPLICATOR into G-TUBE’s Administration Set port.
- Continue with NG TUBE INSTRUCTIONS above.
Instructions For Low Profile Devices
- Place FEEDING SET into LOW PROFILE DEVICE following manufacturer’s instructions.
- Place APPLICATOR into FEEDING SET.
