Indications for Use
Corflo Ultra Lite Nasogastric Feeding Tube is intended for short-term (up to 30 days) intermittent or continuous nasogastric/nasoenteric feeding.
Device Lifetime
Validated for use up to 30 days.
Tube Maintenance
- Follow facility protocol or clinician orders.
- Flush every 4 hours and before/after medications or interruptions:
- Adults: up to 20 ml of water
- Infants/children: up to 10 ml of water
- Never use vigorous syringe force to flush or unblock.
- Regularly assess the tube; replace when clinically indicated.
Possible Complications (Rare but Serious)
- Pneumothorax, GI perforation, aspiration
- Airway obstruction, tissue irritation/necrosis
- Allergic reaction, contamination
- Delay/misplacement of nutrition/medication → need for additional procedures

Key Warnings

- The absence of a cough does not confirm correct placement.
- Extra caution if an endotracheal tube is in place (may guide feeding tube into lungs).
- Always confirm stomach placement before flushing or feeding.
- Never reinsert the stylet while the tube is in the patient.
