Cutimed Sorbact Swab is a hydrophobic bacteria-binding wound dressing based on Sorbact Technology. It is suitable for use as a wound liner or filler and allows the passage of exudate into a secondary dressing. The dressing can be used on both superficial and deep wounds and is compatible with compression therapy when managing exudate. For optimal results, use Cutimed Sorbact Swab together with a secondary dressing appropriate for the exudate level.
Features:
- Not made with natural rubber latex
- Ideal for infection wound management
- Safely removes hydrophobic bacteria
- Suitable for low to heavily exuding wounds
- Requires a secondary dressing
- Effective against common resistant pathogens
Benefits:
- Reduces bioburden and supports effective wound healing with a low risk of allergies
- Irreversibly binds and removes hydrophobic bacteria without releasing active agents into the wound
- Inhibits the growth of the top five WHO-listed pathogens (in vitro)
- Flexible and easy to cut or shape, making it suitable for various wound types
Directions for Use:
- Clean the wound and surrounding skin according to local clinical practice
- Select an appropriately sized dressing; it can be unfolded or trimmed to fit and may overlap wound margins if needed
- Remove the dressing from the peel pouch using an aseptic technique
- If cutting, use an aseptic techniquedo not tear the dressing; discard any unused material
- Ensure full contact with the wound surface for effective bacterial binding; in deep wounds, unfold and loosely fill without dense packing
- Cover with a suitable secondary dressing (foam, absorbent pad, or gelling fiber) and secure in place
- Change the dressing based on exudate levels and wound condition; if appropriate, the dressing may remain for up to 7 days
How to Remove:
- If the dressing adheres to the wound, moisten before removal to prevent damage to healing tissue
Indications:
- Surgical wounds
- Traumatic wounds
- Pressure injuries
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Venous leg ulcers
Wear Time: Depending on the clinical condition, the dressing can remain in place for up to 7 days.
