Cutimed Sorbion Sorbact is a hydrophobic, bacteria-binding wound dressing based on Sorbact Technology. Its green wound contact layer works in combination with a hydroactive, gel-forming superabsorbent core that absorbs and retains excess exudate, helping to maintain an optimal moist wound healing environment.
Features:
- Free from natural rubber latex
- Designed for infection wound management
- Facilitates safe removal of hydrophobic bacteria
- Excellent absorption capacity
Benefits:
- Reduces bioburden and promotes effective wound healing with a low risk of allergic reactions
- Irreversibly binds and removes adhered hydrophobic bacteria without releasing active agents, minimizing the risk of bacterial resistance
- Absorbs and retains wound exudate, reducing the risk of maceration while maintaining a moist healing environment
- In vitro studies show Sorbact Technology dressings can inhibit the growth of the Top 5 WHO pathogens
Directions for use:
- Prepare the wound and surrounding skin according to local clinical protocols
- Select an appropriately sized dressing ensuring it overlaps the wound margins by at least 2 cm. do not cut the dressing
- Remove the dressing from the peel pouch using aseptic technique
- Apply the dressing so the green contact layer is in full contact with the wound surface to allow microorganisms to bind effectively
- Secure with an elastic bandage or skin-friendly adhesive tape, allowing the dressing space to expand under fixation
- Change the dressing according to exudate levels and the condition of the wound and surrounding skin. If clinically appropriate, it may remain in place for up to 7 days
How to remove: If the dressing adheres to the wound, moisten it to aid removal and prevent disruption of the healing tissue.
Indications:
- Pressure injuries
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Venous leg ulcers
- Traumatic wounds
- Surgical wounds
Wear time: If the clinical condition allows, the dressing can remain in place for up to 7 days.
