FlexiCol Hydrocolloid Dressing Tan Square Sterile handles wound drainage with a combination of absorption and evaporation. Unlike other dressings that tend to pull away soon after being applied, FlexiCol stays secure for days after its first application so re-application or securing with tape is eliminated. FlexiCol's thin film exterior and moist core allow for higher and quicker fluid uptake so most residue does not remain in the wound. Peel-off tabs and a thin beveled edge make application quick and prevent dressing roll-off. FlexiCol folds easily to conform to difficult-to-dress areas and is available in two shaped dressings for wounds on the sacrum, heels and elbows.

How to apply:

1. Clean and dry the wound area per protocol prior to application.
2. Select the appropriate dressing size and shape according to the wound.
3. Remove the larger piece of the protective paper backing.
4. Place on the wound holding the dressing by the portion still covered by the protective paper backing.
5. When dressing is firmly in place, remove the remaining piece of protective paper and press all edges of the dressing firmly to adhere the dressing.
6. The dressing should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least a half-inch (1-2cm) beyond the wound edge.

How to remove:

1. Dressing should be changed when there is visible discoloration of the dressing.
2. Lift the dressing at the edges and remove the whole dressing carefully.
3. A layer of hydrocolloid gel may remain on the wound that will not impair healing and can be rinsed off if desired.
4. The frequency of replacing the dressing depends on the patient's condition and exudate level. Wear time is no more than 7 days.
