Hartmann-Conco Hydrofilm Transparent Film Dressing is a meticulously engineered solution for wound management that facilitates a healing environment while providing protection against external irritants.
Crafted by Hartmann, a renowned manufacturer in medical supplies, this sterile dressing boasts a semi-permeable, transparent polyurethane polyacrylate top layer; coupled with a hypoallergenic, polyacrylate adhesive.
It is designed to securely shield wounds during the later stages of
healing without inflicting further mechanical irritation, making it ideal for patients requiring superior wound care.
Features:
- Highly breathable film reduces maceration risk.
- Semi-permeable to permit the skin to breathe, aiding in the healing process.
- Provides robust protection against secondary infection by acting as a barrier.
- Sterile and transparent allowing for continuous monitoring without removing the dressing.
- Hypoallergenic adhesive offering secure fixation while minimizing risk of an allergic reaction.
- The transparent, self-adhesive film protects the wound while allowing it
to be examined without removing the dressing.
Properties:
The semi-permeable polyurethane film is coated with an adhesive. The film
facilitates the free passage of water vapour and gases and it is waterproof. As
Hydrofilm is completely transparent, the wound can be inspected without removing
the dressing.
Indications:
Hydrofilm can be used for protection against bacterial
penetration, external contaminants, and mechanical irritation of dry or slightly
exuding, primary healing wounds, for almost healed epithelising wounds as well
as for the securing of wound dressings, catheters and cannulas. Additionally, it
can be used as a sealing element in negative pressure wound therapy.
Contraindications: Hydrofilm must not be used as a primary dressing on
clinically infected, bleeding or highly exudative wounds.
Special precautions:
- Reusing a single-use medical device is dangerous. Reprocessing devices,
in order to reuse them, may seriously damage their integrity and their
performance.
- Before opening the product packaging, inspect it carefully for signs of
damage. Do not use the product if there are visible signs of damage, such as
cracks, channels, pinholes, or nonuniform, torn or incomplete seals.
Mode of application:
Clean the application area thoroughly and ensure that the skin is dry and
free from creams and ointments. Hairy skin areas should be shaved before
applying Hydrofilm.
- Open the peel pouch and take out the dressing. Hydrofilm is protected by
4 covers, numbered 1 to 4 in the order of application. Slightly remove the
protective covers 1 and 2, then,
- Place the Hydrofilm adhesive side on the wound. Fully remove the protective
covers 1 and 2, gently press the entire film onto the skin, conforming it to
the body contours.
- Remove the protective cover 3.
- Then remove the protective cover 4 and gently press Hydrofilm to the
skin. Hydrofilm can be removed almost painlessly by overstretching the
material. To do this, loosen an edge and carefully take off the dressing by
overstretching it.
