Hartmann TwoPress 2 Lite 2 Layer Compression System represents an innovative solution for patients requiring gentle yet effective compression therapy. Specifically designed for those with a minimum Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) of 0.6, this system delivers standard compression through a synergistic two-layer design that promises enhanced patient comfort and therapeutic efficacy.
Its visual indicators on both layers give healthcare professionals the
confidence they need for correct application, preventing either overstretching
or insufficient compression, leading to optimal treatment outcomes.
Featuring unique interlocking layers, the TwoPress 2 Lite system maintains its position and therapeutic pressure for up to seven days, negating the need for frequent readjustments. The elasticity and adhesive qualities of the materials ensure a snug yet comfortable fit around various leg sizes, with the added advantage of resistance to wrinkling. This thoughtful construction simplifies the application process and typically requires no additional fixation. Designed and manufactured by Hartmann, a trusted brand in the healthcare industry, this compression kit emphasizes reliability and user-friendly
experiences for both the patient and the healthcare provider.
Features:
- No need for additional fixation supplies.
- Extended bandage lengths to fit almost all leg sizes comfortably.
- Visual indicators on both layers to ensure correct bandage extension.
- Bandages are designed to resist wrinkling and are easy to unwind for
application.
- Two-layer compression system specifically tailored for reduced
compression needs.
- Layer two is a long-stretch cohesive compression bandage that locks into
the first layer prevent slippage and maintain consistent pressure.
Intended purpose:
The 2-component compression system is a single-use, non-sterile medical
device used by healthcare professionals in clinical and home environment. It can
be used for compression therapy which requires a reduced level of compression (ABPI
0.6-0.8), or for patients unable to tolerate full compression, or as part of a
step-up approach, for the treatment of:
- Mixed etiology (arterial-venous) leg ulcers
- Venous leg ulcers
- Edema
- Thrombosis/thrombophlebitis
The 2-component compression system can be used for long-term compression
therapy on intact skin in humans (above 6 months of age). It can be used in
combination with primary and secondary dressings.
Composition:
- Short-stretch padding bandage: 92% polyester + 8% elastane, with
a cohesive coating on one side.
- Compression bandage: 85% polypropylene + 15% elastane, with a
cohesive coating on both sides.
Indication:
- Venous leg ulcers.
- Mixed etiology (arterial-venous) leg ulcers.
- Edema (e.g. venous edema, lymph edema, post-traumatic edema).
- Thrombosis/thrombophlebitis (e.g. thrombophlebitis as well as condition
after healed thrombophlebitis, deep leg and arm vein thrombosis, condition
after deep vein thrombosis, post-thrombotic syndrome, thromboprophylaxis).
Contraindications:
- Septic phlebitis.
- Florid erysipelas.
- phlegmasia coerulea dolens.
- Ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) < 0.6.
- Decompensated heart failure (NYHA III + IV).
- Advanced peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD) with critical
ischemia.
Application:
Please use this system only as a set and in the correct order. When applying
the two bandages, make sure that the patient's foot is at an angle of 90°
relative to the lower leg (neutral 0 position). Examine the leg before
application to identify bony prominences and potential pressure points and pad
them with the short-stretch padding bandage. Start applying the white
short-stretch padding bandage.
- Ignoring the printed indicator, apply the white padding bandage (with
the ink facing away from the skin), next to the base of the toes.
- After two turns of fixation, wrap the bandage across the back of the
foot and enclose the heel. Adjust the stretch based on the anatomy of the
foot.
- Using a spiral technique, wrap with an overlap of 50%. Stretch the
bandage until the indicator shows a regular hexagon. Use the center line of
the hexagon to guide overlap.
- Tear off (pinch and pull) excess bandage material beneath the tibial
tuberosity. Additional fixation is not necessary; tape may be used if
desired.
- Ignoring the printed indicator, apply the cohesivecompression bandage
next to the base of the toes, so the edge of the white short-stretch padding
remains visible.
- After two turns for fixation, wrap the bandage across the back of the
foot and enclose the heel. Adjust the stretch based on the anatomy of the
foot.
- Using a spiral technique wrap with an overlap of 50%. Stretch the
bandage until the indicator shows a regular hexagon. Use the center line of
the hexagon to guide overlap. Tear off (pinch and pull) excess bandage
material beneath the tibial tuberosity, leaving the edge of thewhite padding
visible.
- Press the compression bandage evenly with both hands over the entire
lower leg.
Precautions:
- Primary chronic polyarthritis.
- Pronounced weeping dermatoses.
- Incompatibility with compression bandages material.
- Pronounced sensibility disorders of the extremities (e.g. in the case of
advanced diabetic peripheral polyneuropathy).
