Description

ManukaMed MED SAF Custom Fiber Pad is a large, super-absorbent, sterile, single-use wound dressing designed for managing acute and chronic exuding wounds. It helps maintain a moist wound bed to promote optimal healing. The cross-linked mesh gelling surface enhances clinical ease and patient comfort during each dressing change for heavily exuding wounds. When used together with ManukaPli and an appropriate secondary dressing, it swells and gels upon contact with exudate and necrotic tissue, helping to lower wound pH and reduce or eliminate odor. Clinically shown to provide 50-100% greater antibacterial and plasmin activity than comparable products.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 4 x 5 Inch
  • Latex-free composition for safe use on sensitive skin
  • Super-absorbent, cross-linked fiber dressing for heavy exuding wounds
  • Ideal for wounds that require fluid absorption and moisture management
  • Suitable for partial- and full-thickness wounds such as pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, surgical wounds, abrasions, fungating ulcers, skin tears, and for pressure ulcer prevention

Indications:

This dressings may be used for acute and chronic wounds of all types such as:

  • Leg Ulcers.
  • Pressure Ulcers.
  • 1st and 2nd Degree Burns (Superficial and Partial Thickness).
  • Diabetic Foot Ulcers.
  • Surgical Wounds.
  • Trauma Wounds.
  • Skin Grafts

Directions for Use:

  1. Cleanse the wound gently with a sterile wound cleanser or saline. Apply the dressing directly to the wound, either side down.
  2. Trim the dressing to fit the wound size as needed.
  3. The dressing will absorb and expand upon contact with wound exudate, locking in fluids within the pad. For larger wounds, place multiple dressings side by side. Depending on the wound type and exudate level, a secondary dressing may be required.
  4. Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing.

Dressing Change: Change the dressing daily or as needed, depending on wound condition and the amount of exudate. If the dressing adheres to the wound, moisten it with sterile saline to ease removal. Replace with a new dressing once saturated.

Precaution: Consult your doctor before use if you are allergic to bees, honey, or any of the ingredients in this product.
