Maxorb II Alginate Dressings provide advanced, highly absorbent wound care for moderate to heavily draining wounds. Made from 100% calcium alginate, these dressings offer superior absorption and fluid management, making them ideal for partial- and full-thickness wounds. The vertical fluid wicking feature helps prevent periwound skin maceration, while the long wear time of up to seven days reduces the need for frequent dressing changes. Maxorb II is a reliable choice for healthcare professionals looking for effective, long-lasting wound care solutions.
Features:
- Superior Absorption: Made from 100% calcium alginate, Maxorb II provides excellent fluid absorption, ideal for moderate to heavily draining wounds.
- Vertical Fluid Wicking: Effectively wicks fluid vertically, reducing the risk of periwound skin maceration and promoting optimal skin health around the wound.
- Long Wear Time: Can be left in place for up to seven days, minimizing dressing changes and enhancing patient comfort.
- Easy Application and Removal: Maxorb II is designed for simple application and removal, ensuring a smooth and efficient dressing change experience.
- Prevents Periwound Skin Damage: Helps prevent maceration of surrounding skin, ensuring the area around the wound stays protected and healthy.
- Promotes Fast Healing: Maintains a moist healing environment, optimally managing exudate to accelerate the wound healing process.
- Wet-Strength Integrity: Ensures the dressing maintains its integrity, reducing residual material left in the wound and easing dressing changes.
Indications:
- Moderate to heavily exudating partial to full thickness wounds.
- Post-operative wounds.
- Trauma wounds.
- Ulcers: leg, pressure, diabetic.
- Graft and donor sites.
- 1st and 2nd degree burns.
Contraindications:
- Third degree burns
- dry or lightly draining wounds,
- individuals with a known sensitivity to alginates
- to control heavy bleeding
- for use as a surgical sponge.
Frequency Of Dressing Change: Maxorb II may be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on the wound condition and drainage level. Change when secondary dressing becomes saturated or begins to leak. For heavily draining wounds, expect daily dressing changes. As drainage decreases, dressing changes may become less frequent.
Precautions: The dressing will form a gel-like consistency as it absorbs drainage. Discontinue use if signs of irritation or sensitivity appear and consult a healthcare professional.
Storage: Protect from freezing and avoid excessive heat. Store below 77F (25C).
