It is also used to diagnose skin conditions that can lead to cancer. It is a sharp, hollow, circular tool for removing small round pieces of diseased tissue from the skin. To remove sample tissue, turn the device clockwise and counterclockwise to cut 4mm into the fatty layer. Different body parts have varying skin thickness.
