TheraHoney HD Honey Wound Dressing

Medline TheraHoney HD is an easy-to-apply dressing impregnated with 100% sterile, medical-grade Manuka honey. Sourced from the pollen and nectar of the Leptospermum scoparium plant in New Zealand, the honey is carefully filtered, irradiated, and tested for quality. With high sugar content, this dressing creates osmotic pressure that promotes autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue, helps maintain a moist wound healing environment, and rapidly reduces wound odor.

Features:

• Permits the passage of exudate into a secondary dressing, reducing peri-wound maceration

Indications:

• Partial and full-thickness wounds
• Leg ulcers
• Pressure injuries
• First- and second-degree burns
• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Surgical wounds and trauma wounds
• Minor abrasions, lacerations, minor cuts, minor scalds and burns

Contraindications: Not for use on third-degree burns or by individuals with known sensitivity to honey or bee venom.

How to Apply:

1. Remove Therahoney from the package Remove one of the protective liners.
2. Remove second protective liner. Apply dressing directly to wound, either side down.
3. Secure dressing with an appropriate secondary dressing.

Change Frequency: Change the dressing based on the amount of drainage or as indicated by the secondary dressing. It may remain in place for up to 7 days and can be reapplied as necessary.

Precautions: Monitor blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. Discontinue use if pain occurs, and gently irrigate the wound.

Note: Single-use only. Discard after use.
