Description
TheraHoney Honey Dressing Sheet contains 100% sterile, medical-grade Manuka honey, derived from the pollen and nectar of the Leptospermum scoparium plant in New Zealand. The porous TheraHoney Sheet allows exudate to pass into a secondary dressing, reducing the risk of peri-wound maceration. Its high sugar content (87%) creates osmotic pressure that promotes autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue while maintaining a moist wound healing environment. The dressing can be easily cut to fit wounds of varying sizes and shapes, making it suitable for partial- and full-thickness wounds.
Features:
- Not made with natural rubber latex.
- Made from single-use honeycomb, honey is carefully filtered, irradiated, and laboratory-tested for quality and sterility.
- Porous sheet design allows exudate to drain into a secondary dressing, minimizing peri-wound maceration.
- Maintains a moist environment conducive to wound healing while managing exudate efficiently.
- Suitable for wounds with any level of drainage.
Indications:
- Partial and full-thickness wounds
- Leg ulcers
- Pressure injuries
- First- and second-degree burns
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Surgical wounds, and trauma wounds
- Minor abrasions, lacerations, minor cuts, minor scales, and burns.
Contraindications: Third-degree burns or individuals with known sensitivity to honey or bee venom.
Change Frequency: Change dressing based on the amount of drainage or as indicated by the secondary dressing. May remain in place for up to 7 days and can be reapplied as necessary.
How to Apply:
- Remove Therahoney from the package. Remove one of the protective liners.
- Remove second protective liner. Apply dressing directly to wound, either side down.
