The Safetac interface layer reduces pain and trauma during dressing changes by gently adhering to the skin without sticking to the wound bed, resulting in a more comfortable experience for the patient. The addition of an antimicrobial silver layer distinguishes this dressing by providing a sustained release of silver ions, which helps reduce the risk of infection. This antimicrobial action is especially useful in postoperative settings, where infection can have a significant impact on recovery times and patient outcomes. Silver ions continuously inhibit the growth of a wide range of pathogens, providing an additional layer of protection against wound infection.
