Mextra Superabsorbent Wound Dressing

Mextra Superabsorbent wound dressing is a four-layer dressing with a fluid-repellent backing film that provides high fluid absorption and retention. Dressing with a high fluid handling capacity reduces the risk of leaks and maceration due to its absorption and retention capabilities. It may also lessen the need for frequent dressing changes, resulting in lower treatment costs. The soft border makes it conformable and simple to deal with. It also makes your patients feel more at ease. After absorbing exudate, it maintains its structure and integrity without becoming bulky. Absorption and retention qualities contribute to a lower risk of leaks and maceration.

Dressing Composition:

1. Fluid-repellent backing helps prevent strike-through.
2. Distribution layer channels exudate upward into the absorbent layer.
3. Hydrophilic wound contact layer moves fluid into the super absorbent layer, supporting retention and helping reduce maceration while protecting the periwound area.
4. Absorbent layer with super absorbent particles manages light to heavy exudate, offering strong absorption and retention. The polyacrylate particles also provide protease-modulating benefits.

Indications: Suitable for managing highly exuding wounds, such as venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and in some cases pressure ulcers.

Directions to use:

1. Clean the wound area and select a suitable size of dressing.
2. Apply dressing directly on the wound area with the white side of the dressing onto the wound. For best results, the pad should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least 2 cm. Dressing can also be used together with a wound contact layer.
3. Secure dressing with a suitable bandage or fixation tape. It can also be used under a compression bandage where appropriate.
