MSUD Gel Oral Supplement is a powdered medical food that is free of leucine, isoleucine, and valine. It is intended for use in the dietary management of Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: To be determined by the clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, body weight, and medical condition of the patient.

PREPARATION GUIDELINES: MSUD gel can be made in a semi-solid spoonable form or as a low-volume drink.

For a semi-solid consistency:

• Add 30 ml (1 fl oz) of cold water into a small container with a lid.
• Empty the contents of the packet into the container.
• Secure the lid and shake well for 10 seconds.
• Leave to stand for 2 minutes, allowing a smooth semisolid consistency to form. Consume with a spoon.

For the drink:

• Add approximately 80 ml (approx 3 fl oz) of cold water or other permitted beverage into a container with a lid.
• Empty the contents of the packet into the container.
• Secure the lid and shake well until powder dissolves.
• Drink immediately

NOTE: After using the product, consume water or other permitted drinks. The product should be prepared immediately before feeding and if the product is not utilized within one hour, it must be discarded.

• Only persons with proven MSUD should ingest it under strict medical supervision.
