Preparation & Storage

Administration:

16 – Use only under the direction of a physician or dietitian. PhenylAde 40 must be consumed in conjunction with natural protein, fluid and other nutrients in quantities prescribed by a physician or dietitian to meet the phenylalanine and general nutrient requirements. Fat, carbohydrate and low protein sources may be used to supply needed calories and to fulfill essential fatty acid requirements. The recommended intake of PhenylAde40 will vary depending on the age, body weight and medical condition of the individual. Intake is adjusted to maintain normal growth and development. The daily intake of PhenylAde40 should be divided into equal portions and distributed throughout the day.

Mixing Instructions: Add prescribed amount of PhenylAde 40 to recommended amount of cold water, shake or stir until completely mixed together. For better accuracy, powder should be weighed on a gram scale. Dilution may be adjusted to taste. Once prepared, store formula in a refrigerator for no more than 24 hours from the time of preparation. Shake or stir prepared formula immediately before use. Do not heat, bake or add to food or beverages above 130°F. Best served chilled. Additional fluids should be offered at the same time.

Recommended Dilution: PhenylAde 40 - Add contents of 1 scoop or pouch (25g) to approx.5 fl oz (150 mL) of cold water.

Precautions: Must be consumed by individuals with proven phenylketonuria while under strict medical supervision. Not intended for infants. Not intended as the sole source of nutrition. Not for parenteral use.

Storage: Store unopened can or cases at room temperature. Do not store at extreme temperatures. Once can is opened, reseal and store in a cool, dry place (not in refrigerator) and use within one month of opening.
