Medline Puracol Collagen Dressing is an advanced primary wound dressing formulated to support healing for all levels of exudate. Composed of 100% pure native collagen, this highly absorbent dressing transforms into a soft gel sheet upon contact with wound exudate, maintaining close contact with the wound bed. Its unique formulation helps restore the chemical balance of the wound environment, promoting healing in chronic or stalled wounds. Sterile and latex-free, Puracol is suitable for a wide range of acute and chronic wounds, providing reliable protection and comfort. Chronic wounds often have elevated levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which break down necrotic tissue as well as newly formed collagen. Puracol dressings support natural healing processes and may be cut to fit the wound if needed.

Contraindications:

• Wounds with active vasculitis or patients with known sensitivity to collagen.
• Not indicated for third-degree burns.

Direction to Use:

1. Remove Puracol Dressing from the package.
2. The dressing should come in contact with the wound. If necessary the dressing may be moistened with sterile saline.
3. Cover with a secondary dressing.

Frequency of Change: Dressing replacement is at the discretion of the healthcare professional. Puracol is 100% pure collagen and fully biodegradable. Residual dressing does not need to be removed during changes.

Precautions:

Can be used when visible signs of infection are present, alongside appropriate medical treatment of the underlying causes. Suitable for use under compression therapy. Discontinue and consult a healthcare professional if sensitization occurs.

Storage: Protect from freezing and excessive heat. Do not store above 77�F / 25�C.
