Each tube is designed with a smooth, round-tip and its own obturator. It is used to bypass upper airway obstructions, support tracheal and bronchial secretions, and provide long-term ventilation. All neonatal tracheostomy tubes have a recessed area behind the connector to provide greater comfort.
