TheraTogs TogRite Strapping Material is a dynamic strapping material that resists elongation and has strong, elastic rebound qualities that closely resemble functional muscle. It is designed exclusively for TheraTogs orthotic garment systems.

TheraTogs TogRite Strapping includes an elasticized, latex-free backing that grips the body and prevents migration during wear and movement. It is now available in bulk rolls of 10 or 25 yards, as well as three widths (1.5", 2", and 3"). All TogRite rolls have an abundance of strapping attachment tabs made of the exclusive TabRite hook material.

Q. What are Thera Togs? How do they work?

A. Thera Togs are specialized undergarments and straps customized for your patient to create a live-in system that provides either neuromotor or postural training, or prolonged proprioceptive input.

• For patients with biomechanical or neuromotor issues, Thera Togs work by allowing the clinician to set the patient's body in proper functional alignment, and letting them re-train their body through the 'practice' of daily activities. By applying prolonged, gentle forces during activity, Thera Togs can actually change the muscle and connective tissue- and for infants and young children, bone and joint development as well- in favor of better function and better alignment.
• For patients with sensory and sensorimotor issues, Thera Togs work by applying consistent, gentle compression and proprioceptive input across the entire trunk, and by offering stability and support in a dynamic system that moves with the patient.

Q. What are Thera Togs used for?

Q. Can Thera Togs be worn all day, or is there a time limit for wearing?

A. There is no generic or standard wearing schedule; it depends on what the clinician and the caregivers determine is the best for the patient, and what's most realistic for the patient's circumstances. For most wearers, it's best to start slow, wearing only the garments for a week or so, and then adding strapping if/as needed. (In many cases, TheraTogs cause the patient to use muscles that have been underused, so fatigue is to be expected.)

Q. How should I care for my Thera Togs?

A. Thera Togs provide detailed care instructions with all TheraTogs systems. You should review these with your clinician before you start using the product.

Q. Are Thera Togs hard to use? Some of those product pictures look pretty complicated.

A. Since you always start with just the garments for a few weeks, you should find it pretty simple after the first couple of mornings. We find that most caregivers can dress their patients in 3 to 5 minutes. That said, to get the maximum benefit out of your Thera Togs, you have to accept that you and your wearer are on a journey together-a journey to reshape the wearer's body and give it the best alignment and function that you can. It's important work, and your Thera Togs are there to help you.

Q. What does it mean that Thera Togs are a Class I medical device?

A. TheraTogs have been registered with the U.S. Federal Food and Drug Administration as a Class I Medical Device. Thera Togs systems are intended to be applied under the supervision of a licensed, healthcare practitioner.

Class I devices are subject to the least regulatory control because they present a minimum of potential for harm to the user. TheraTogs were determined to be a Class I device because they are worn on the outside of the body and have negligible potential for harm.
