Hartmann ThreePress 3 Layer Compression Bandage System is a latex-free solution designed to provide professional-grade therapeutic compression for patients dealing with various venous leg ulcers and associated conditions.
Provides consistent, sustained compression between 30 and 40 mmHg for up to
seven days. Developed by Hartmann, a trusted name in medical supplies, this
innovative bandaging system synchronizes three distinct bandage layers to
achieve sustained compression. Three layers consisting of a short stretch cotton
padding layer, a compression layer, and cohesive bandage layer.
Features:
- Multi-layer system including three specialized bandages.
- Integrated visual indicators for ensuring correct application tension.
- Latex-free materials suitable for sensitive skin.
- Designed to maintain effective compression for up to one week.
- Adjustable compression levels to suit individual patient needs.
- Provides a steady healing environment, reducing swelling and improving circulation.
Benefits:
- Helps in the effective management and healing of leg ulcers and other venous ailments.
- Supports better patient mobility by allowing stable compression without slippage.
- Reduces the need for frequent bandage changes, saving time and resources for caregivers.
- The built-in stretch guide ensures consistent application and optimal therapeutic benefit.
Dimensions:
- Padding bandage - 4 Inch x 3.8 Yard. / 10cm x 3.5m
- Compression bandage - 4 Inch x 10.4 Yard. / 10cm x 9.5m
- Cohesive bandage - 4 Inch x 6.5 Yard / 10cm x 6m
Indications:
The ThreePress Compression Bandaging System is indicated for the management
of venous leg ulcers and related conditions. ThreePress may be used on patients
with an ankle circumference 18 cm or larger (padded). Compression data indicates
that the ThreePress system provides sustained compression in the 30-40 mmHg
range for up to seven days at the ankle when applied according to package insert
directions.
Contra-Indications: ThreePress is not indicated for use on
diabetic patients with small vessel disease or on patients with an ankle
brachia! index (ABPI) of less than 0.8. Doppler ultrasound is recommended to
rule out arterial disease.
How to apply:
Before applying the first bandage:
- Check the ABPI (Ankle Brachial Pressure Index) to determine if arterial
disease is present. If the ABPI is less than 0.8 do not apply the System.
- Confirm ankle circumference is greater than 18 cm (Ankle circumference
may change as edema is reduced.)
- Apply an appropriate non-adhesive primary dressing to cleansed wound
before applying ThreePress.
Layer One - Padding Bandage:
- Wrap the padding/absorption layer with the fluffy cotton sideagainst the
skin.
- Use a spiral technique at 50% overlap from the base of the toes to just
below the knee.
- Stretch this layer around bony prominence, such as the heel, to increase
conformability.
- Cut off any excess bandage and use it over the wound area to absorb
drainage.
- Secure the end of the padding layer with one of the tape strips
provided.
- When applying a compression system to the leg, it is important to
enclose the heel with all layers of the System.
Layer Two - Compression Bandage:
- Wrap the compression bandage from the base of the toes to the ankle
using the spiral technique.
- At the ankle, switch to using the figure of eight wrapping technique at
50% extension and 50% overlap starting at the ankle to just below the knee.
- To assist in extending this bandage at 50% the rectangular pattern on
the bandage will form a square pattern at 50% extension.
- Cut off any excess bandage once you have wrapped to the knee.
- Secure the end of Layer Two with one of the tape strips provided.
Layer Three - Cohesive Compression Bandage:
- Wrap the cohesive compression bandage from the base of the toes to just
below the knee using the spiral technique at 50% extension and 50% overlap.
- Cut off any excess bandage to avoid a tourniquet effect once you have
wrapped to the knee.
