Q1. What is the difference between ClearUP and ClearUP 2.0?
ClearUP 2.0 has a new chip for power management for faster charging and a longer lasting battery life.
Q2. What is bioelectronic medicine?
Bioelectronic medicine uses device technology in conjunction with the body's own nerve pathways to help mitigate symptoms of inflammation and underlying causes of disease. Bioelectronic medicine has compelling advantages over traditional drug-based interventions. Benefits of bioelectronic therapuetics include better diagnosis and prevention, precision targeting, personalization, and real-time optimization, which are a few factors that support the case for the field’s growth potential.
Q3. What is microcurrent?
Microcurrent is a safe and effective delivery of low-level electrical stimulation. Similar approaches have been used for decades by healthcare providers in implantable devices such as deep brain stimulators, pacemakers, and spinal cord stimulators. ClearUP is the first bioelectronic sinus device to use non-invasive microcurrent to relieve symptoms of inflammation such as sinus pain, sinus pressure, sinus headaches, and congestion.
Q4. How is ClearUP different from other microcurrent devices?
ClearUP emits a proprietary stimulation that has been developed specifically to reduce sinus pain and congestion, whereas other microcurrent devices have different stimulation parameters.
Q5. Who is ClearUP intended for?
The Tivic ClearUP device is intended to be used for adults 18+ years who have symptoms of nasal and sinus inflammation such as sinus pain, sinus pressure, sinus headaches, and congestion due to cold, flu, and allergies. It also can be helpful to those who have trouble breathing through their nose during exercise, trouble falling asleep, or those who have medication restrictions.
Q6. Can I use ClearUP on my child, or anyone else?
ClearUP has been clinically validated for safety and effectiveness with users 18 and older. Due to the electrical circuit design, the hand holding the device completes the electrical circuit. ClearUP must be self-administered and cannot be applied to another person. Please only use as directed.
Q7. How often should I use ClearUP?
For best results, use the device consistently 2-4 times a day for 2-4 weeks, followed by use as needed for symptoms. While some users feel instant relief, our clinical studies showed maximum benefits with extended use. One treatment can provide up to 6 hours of relief.
Q8. Can ClearUP be used on other areas of the body?
ClearUP has only been studied when applied to the cheek, nose, and browbone area. The recommended treatment area and frequency was used in the clinical trials, is FDA approved, and has been deemed safe and effective.
Q9. I suffer from congestion, but do not experience sinus pain. Will ClearUP still work for me?
ClearUP has been shown to be clinically effective for treating congestion and can help with your symptoms even if you do not suffer from sinus pain.
Q10. Does ClearUP have a battery and will I need to replace it?
It's important to only use the USB-C charger provided. ClearUP is powered by a lithium battery, which is rechargeable using the accompanying USB-C charger.
Q11. How do I charge my ClearUP, and how long does a charge last?
You should charge the device prior to first use and as necessary thereafter. With regular use, a single charge can typically last 1-3 weeks. ClearUP will be disabled while it's charging. Be sure to use only the charger that came with the device packaging. Other chargers are not authorized and may damage the device. The device will indicate it needs to be charged when the battery light blinks orange. It will slowly blink green during charging, and become solid green once fully charged.
Q12. Does it hurt/What are the risks?
You may feel nothing, a vibration, a tingle, or a prickling sensation. Maintain device contact to the face and apply light pressure as you glide for the best experience. However, if you experience any persistent discomfort or negative impact that does not resolve on its own, we recommend changing treatment frequency.
