It has a blended, soft, quiet plastic backing that helps ensure the pad is quiet and stays securely in place. It not only protected from leaks and liquid in places, but also protected from odors with a heavy absorbency for both fluids and smells. The comfortable top sheet feels like a blanket while the middle layer soaks in any liquid spilled. The blue, trusty bottom layer is impassable by liquid as an added protection, keeping your surfaces dry. All three layers are sealed together at the edges for an added measure of security.
