Description
Teleflex Medical Trach Vent T-HME is a lightweight heat and moisture exchanger device. It is used to maintain the natural humidity level of the air administered to patients on artificial ventilation. The device has a standard fifteen millimeter connector which makes it compatible with all standard tracheostomy tubes. The trach vent is incredibly light in weight and weighs only four grams which helps minimize the resistance on the tracheostomy tube. A T-shaped design of the vent helps ensure a more secure and reliable connection to the tubes. To enhance the efficiency of changing the vent or suctioning, the Trach Vent T-HME can be attached to the tracheostomy or endotracheal tube using the Trach Vent Holder. The design of the trach vent is compatible with the Oxy-Vent to administer supplemental oxygen. The T-Heat and Moisture Exchanger features Gibeck Microwell Paper that is responsible for providing an optimal moisture output to the patient. The paper traps the heat and moisture during expiration and delivers it back to the user during inspiration to maintain the humidity level. It is also bacteriostatic to ensure patient safety and prevent pathogens from entering into the patient’s airways and causing further complications. The trach vent is suitable for both adults as well as pediatric patients. The vent is recommended to be used for patients with the need for tidal volumes of fifty milliliters and above.
