Hippocampe All-Terrain Beach Wheelchair is a lightweight wheelchair that can be easily packed at home or in a transport bag. The Vipamat Hippocampe All-Terrain Wheelchair is designed to make beach and water-related activities accessible. Hippocampe is a 37.5-lbs. towed, pushed, and self-propelled wheelchair that provides its user autonomy and enables caregivers to easily assist even heavy-weight clients using its push bar or traction kit. The seat is made of a strong closed-cell foam for water resistance, making it comfortable and quick-drying, and the fabric is fireproof.
Hippocampe Beach and All-Terrain Wheelchair helps families with handicapped children gain access to additional leisure and activities. With a maximum authorized load of 287 lbs., it can also be used as an adult wheelchair. Hippocampe Beach Wheelchair can be seen as a sand wheelchair for access to aquatic activities such as hand surfing, kayaking for impaired people, swimming, adaptive sports, and even water skydiving. The Hippocampe Wheelchair by Vipamat is available in four sizes: S, M, L, and XL (longer size). Hippocampe All-Terrain Beach Chair meets quality standards. It is certified ISO 13 485 and FDA-approved.

- This warranty covers manufacturing defects and the replacement of defective parts.
- Warranty does not cover defects resulting from accidents, damage while in transit, alterations, unauthorized repair, failure to follow instructions, misuse and normal wear and tear.
- Parts under warranty will be covered at no cost.

A. The Hippocampe All-terrain wheelchair is available in Small, Medium,
Large, and Extra Large. Frame selection is based on user height:
- Small: for users up to 4'7"
- Medium: 4'7" to 5'5"
- Large: 5'5" to 6'1"
- Extra Large: over 6'1"
All sizes share the same 15.7" seat width, 14.5" seat depth and 13.3" seat height from the ground but vary in seat and total length.

A. Yes. It’s made with closed-cell foam and a corrosion-resistant stainless
steel and anodized aluminum frame, making it safe for full water immersion in

A. Yes, the Hippocampe can be used on snow when equipped with the optional
front ski kit and rear ski set. Each ski pivots independently, helping the
wheelchair adapt to uneven or sloped snowy paths. Choose the option from the Accessories

Q. Are balloon wheels necessary for sand use?
A. Standard wheels work on firm sand, but balloon wheels are ideal for fine
or deep sand, making the chair easier to push or pull. Be sure to select
