Vitaflo Glycosade Starch Oral Supplement

Glycosade is a hydrothermally processed, high amylopectin cornstarch. It is intended for dietary management of hepatic Glycogen Storage Diseases (GSD) where long-acting cornstarch is required.

• Volume: 60 g.
• Can be consumed as a drink or administered as a bolus via feeding tube.
• Special patented heat and moisture process ensures slower starch release.

Ingredients

• Unflavored: Cornstarch.
• Lemon (artificially flavored): Cornstarch, natural and artificial flavor, Xanthan gum, Citric acid, Sucralose.

Osmolality

• Unflavored: 60 g (1 packet) + 120 ml (4 fl oz) water = 14 mOsm/kg.
• Lemon flavor: 60 g (1 packet) + 120 ml (4 fl oz) water = 19 mOsm/kg.

Dosage and Administration: Determined by a clinician or dietitian based on age, body weight, and medical condition.

Recommended Preparation:

Measure the required amount of liquid into a container with a lid.

• Add the required amount of Glycosade to the liquid.
• Typically, one packet (60 g) is mixed with 120 ml (4 fl oz) of cold water or other suitable fluids.
• Secure the lid and shake until fully dissolved.
• Glycosade is now ready for use.

Important: Do not heat or warm Glycosade as it destroys the starch properties. The product should be freshly prepared and consumed immediately.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place. Packets are for single use and should be used immediately once opened.

• Suitable for individuals aged 5 years and above.
• Must only be used in patients with confirmed hepatic GSD where long-acting cornstarch is indicated, under strict medical supervision.
• Not for intravenous use. For enteral use only. Not to be used as the sole source of nutrition. Can be administered via feeding tube as a bolus. Not intended as a continuous enteral feed to avoid tube blockage.
