A laryngoscope is a medical device that is used to examine the larynx, or voice box. It's a long, thin tube with a light and a lens or small video camera attached to the end. The laryngoscope is inserted into the throat through the mouth or nose. Laryngoscopes are classified into two types: direct and indirect. To see the larynx directly, direct laryngoscopes are used. Indirect laryngoscopes are used to look at the larynx from a different angle.
