Cutimed Cavity Foam Dressing
Starts From
Description
Cutimed Cavity is a soft, flexible, and conformable foam dressing designed for deep wounds. It offers consistent absorbency, makes application simple, and removes residue without leaving a mark. As the foam absorbs exudate, it expands, assisting in ensuring that the wound bed is properly covered..
Features & Benefits:
- Secondary dressing needed
- Reliable exudate control for moderate to high exudate levels, with reduced risk of maceration
- Flexibility and conformability allow for good adaptation to deep exuding wounds and foam-swelling during fluid uptake helps in wound bed coverage
- Can be cut to size, rolled or folded into the wound bed if required, several layers can be used
- Both-side application possible
- Dressings Can be easily removed in one piece, with minimized pain, without leaving residue due to high wet tensile strength
Indications: for the management of chronic and acute deep wounds with moderate to high exudate levels, such as
- Pressure ulcers
- Deep leg ulcers
- Cavity wounds
- Diabetic ulcers
- Trauma wounds
- Postoperative wounds
Directions for use:
- Make sure the surrounding skin is dry and clean the wound in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Select an appropriately sized dressing
- Before opening, make sure the bag is intact, and then aseptically remove the dressing
- Depending on the shape of the wound, loosely fold or roll the dressing and cut it to size if needed
- Gently pack the wound cavity, filling no more than 60%, as the dressing will expand when absorbing exudate
- Cover with a suitable secondary dressing
- May be used on infected wounds under medical supervision alongside antimicrobial therapy
- Can be combined with other dressings (e.g., Cutimed Sorbact for infected wounds or Cutimed Gel for dry, necrotic wounds)
- Initially changing every 24 hours and then adjusting as necessary, it may stay in place for up to 7 days, depending on condition of the wound and the amount of exudate
How to remove:
- Gently lift and discard the dressing after carefully removing any attached materials
- If the wound is dry, moisten the dressing with sterile saline solution to ease removal
- Cleanse the wound as needed before applying a new dressing
