IoPlex Iodophor Foam Dressing, Hydrophilic
Starts From
Description
IoPlex Iodophor Foam Dressing features a proprietary controlled-release system that provides regulated and sustained infection management through the slow, continuous release of iodine within the dressing. This advanced technology helps target and control biofilm, a major contributor to delayed wound healing found in over 90% of chronic wounds. Biofilm is notoriously difficult to eliminate as it adheres firmly to tissue and shows high tolerance to antibiotics, often persisting even after debridement.
Features:
- Not made with natural rubber latex.
- Controlled-release iodophor technology provides sustained antibacterial activity for up to 72 hours.
- Dressing gradually fades from black to white as iodine is released, visually indicating when a dressing change is needed.
- Hydrophilic, highly absorbent foam effectively removes wound exudate and debris while maintaining a moist environment conducive to healing.
- Can be easily cut to the shape of the wound and stacked for added absorbency or to fit under compression wraps.
- Contains 8% iodine in the form of controlled-release iodophors for consistent antimicrobial protection.
- Designed to manage infected wounds and reduce bacterial load to support faster healing.
Indications: For cleaning and management of wet ulcers and wounds, including:
- Diabetic ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Arterial ulcers
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Infected traumatic or surgical wounds and burns.
Contraindications:
- Individuals with a history of Graves disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, or goiter
- Pregnant or lactating women.
- Individuals with known sensitivity or allergy to iodine.
How to Apply:
- Cleanse the wound bed thoroughly with sterile saline or water.
- Remove the dressing from its packaging and cut it to match the wound shape, minimizing overlap onto surrounding skin.
- If used under a compression wrap, up to three IoPlex layers may be stacked for optimal coverage and control.
- Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing and monitor drainage. IoPlex should remain soft and moist, not wet.
CAUTION:
- Single use only.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Not for use in eyes.
