Mepilex Ag Antimicrobial Foam Dressing is sterile, soft, and highly conformable. It absorbs exudate and keeps the wound moist and allowing the dressing to be changed without harming the wound or surrounding skin or exposing the patient for additional pain. The Safetac technology layer seals the wound margins, preventing exudate from leaking into the surrounding skin and reducing the danger of maceration. Mepilex Ag begins to inactivate wound-related microorganisms within 30 minutes and has a sustained impact for up to 7 days. By reducing the number of microorganisms, dressing may also reduce odor. Combines the best of two superior technologies the antimicrobial action of ionic silver with the benefits of Safetac soft silicone technology.

Indications:

• Antimicrobial soft silicone foam dressing that is designed for the management of low to moderately exuding wounds such as: leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and partial thickness burns.
• May be used on infected wounds as part of a treatment regimen under supervision of a qualified health care professional.
• Can be used under compression.

Precautions:

• Do not use on patients with a known sensitivity to silver.
• Do not use dressing during radiation treatment or examinations e.g. X-ray, ultrasound, diathermy or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during electronic measurements, e.g. electrocardiograms (ECG) and electroencephalograms (EEG).
