Mepilex Border Flex oval Foam Dressing

Mepilex Border Flex oval Foam Dressing is a self-adherent, absorbent dressing that keeps the wound moist. The wound dressing has a Safetac wound contact layer with innovative adhesive technology. The waterproof outer covering protects the wound from dirt and bacteria. It reduces discomfort for patients and harm to wounds and surrounding skin during dressing removal.

Features:

• Proven to absorb more exudate than similar all-in-one foam dressings.
• Shower-proof dressing allows for up to seven days of wear.
• Used to treat a wide spectrum of chronic and exuding wounds, as well as to prevent pressure injuries.
• Innovative Flex Technology allows the dressing to move in any direction, minimizing skin tension, boosting comfort, and ensuring it stays in place.
• Safetac technology reduces pain and trauma to the skin during dressing changes, as well as the risk of maceration, when compared to traditional (adhesive) dressings.

Dressing consists of:

• A wound contact layer made up of soft silicone adhesive (Safetac) and a film carrier.
• A flexible absorbent pad made up of three layers: foam, a non-woven spreading layer, and a layer of super absorbent fibers; the wound pad is partially perforated using Flex cut technology.
• An exterior coating that is both breathable and waterproof, forming a barrier against outside contaminants.

Dressing material content: Silicone, polyurethane, polyacrylate, cotton, viscose, polyester and polyolefin.

Indications:

• Designed for a wide range of exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (e.g. skin tears) and surgical wounds.
• Can also be used on dry/ necrotic wounds in combination with gels.
• Reduces postoperative blistering, and may also be used as part of a prophylactic therapy to help prevent skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers.

Directions to use:

1. Choose the suitable dressing size/shape. When applicable, use a dressing shape that is optimized for the individual anatomical spot.
2. For use on wounds. Cleanse the wound in accordance with clinical procedures. Completely dry the surrounding skin.
3. Remove the initial release film and place the adhering side on the wound.
4. Remove the remaining release liners and smooth the skin's border. Don't stretch.

Note: For use on wounds: The wound pad should overlap the dry surrounding skin by at least 1-2 cm to protect it from maceration and secure the dressing.
If used for preventive: ensure that the wound pad covers the region at risk of pressure injury or tissue damage.

Warning: When exposed to light, air, and/or heat, the product's polyurethane foam may turn yellower. When utilized before its expiration date, the color change has no effect on the product's properties.
