Mepilex Border Flex Self-Adherent All-In-One Bordered Foam Dressing is a highly conformable five-layer dressing with Flex Technology that moves with the body. It absorbs, channels, and seals exudate while enabling for visual monitoring of fluid distribution. This advanced structure allows for the treatment of moderate to high exudate levels in chronic and acute wounds. Its 360° flexibility and self-adherent construction also aid to lessen the possibility of heel and non-sacral pressure injuries. The dressing's unusual conformability allows it to stay in place, resulting in increased nursing efficiency, cost savings, and greater patient comfort.

How dressing works:

1. Rapid absorption without swelling: The foam layer absorbs normal and viscous exudate fast and without bulkiness, allowing for longer use durations than comparable dressings.
2. Exudate is routed to boost breathability: The inside layers transfer exudate away from the wound and spread it over a broader region, improving moisture vapor release, maintaining a thin profile, and increasing conformability.
3. Bacteria are trapped away from the wound: The super absorbent retention layer securely locks in bacteria-containing exudate, preventing it from returning to the wound, while the backing layer acts as an exterior microbiological barrier.
4. The Exudate Progress Monitor allows you to visually examine the spread of exudate and record wound changes without removing the dressing.

Indications:

• Designed for a wide range of exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (e.g. skin tears) and surgical wounds.
• Can also be used on dry/ necrotic wounds in combination with gels.
• Reduces postoperative blistering, and may also be used as part of a prophylactic therapy to help prevent skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers.
