PolyCal Oral Supplement is a powdered, concentrated source of energy (maltodextrin). A medical food.

Features

• Displacement: 0.57 mL/g.
• PRSL < 0.01 mOsm/10 g.
• Easily digestible maltodextrin.
• Completely soluble in foods and drinks.
• Manufactured in a dairy-free environment .
• Osmolality (10% solution):104 mOsm/kg.
• Neutral taste – does not alter the taste of foods and drinks.
• Calorically dense – 1 scoop provides approximately 5 g (~20 kcal).
• 1 gram contributes approximately1.04 mOsm when added to a solution.

Indications:

• Conditions where a high energy, low fluid or modular diet is indicated.
• For the dietary management of energy needs in patients within born errors of metabolism.

Ingredients: Maltodextrin.

Administration: Intake to be determined by a medical professional and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.

• Beverages: Sprinkle the required amount of powder into the beverage and stir ell.
• Foods: For best results, mix powder with sufficient liquid to form a smooth paste before stirring into hot or cold food.
• Unfinished beverages and foods should be stored in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Precautions:

• Not for parenteral use.
• Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition.

Storage: Store unopened can in a cool, dry place. Once opened, replace container lid and store in a cool, dry place (not in refrigerator) and use contents within 1 month.
