Vitaflo MMA/PA Gel Supplemental Formula is an unflavored powdered methionine, threonine, and valine free protein substitute with low isoleucine that contains essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. MMA/PA gel is used to treat Methylmalonic Aciduria/Propionic Aciduria (MMA/PA) from 1 year of age.

Dosage and Administration: To be determined by a clinician or a dietitian based on the patient's age, body weight, and medical condition.

The product can be used individually or interchanged to meet individual protein requirements.

• The daily protein substitute requirement is given as MMA/PA gel.
• Foods high in carbohydrates and fat, but low in protein, should be provided to supply the remainder of the energy.
• Additional protein is provided from exchanges of natural protein, to provide restricted amino acids in controlled amounts, which is essential for growth and development.

How to Prepare:

For a semi-solid consistency:

• Empty the contents of the sachet into a container.
• Add approximately 30ml (1 fl oz) of cold water into a container.
• Secure the lid and shake well for 10 seconds.
• Leave to stand for 2 minutes, allowing a smooth gel to form.
• Consume with a spoon.

For a drink:

• Empty the contents of the sachet into a container.
• Add approximately 80ml (approx 3 fl oz) of cold water or other permitted beverage into a container with a lid.
• Secure the lid and shake well until the powder dissolves.
• Drink immediately.

NOTE: Water or allowed liquids should be consumed after consuming the product. The product should be prepared immediately prior to feeding and if the product is not utilized within one hour, it should be discarded.

• Not for use as a sole source of nutrition.
• Must only be given to children with proven MMA/PA under strict medical supervision.
• The diet must be supplemented with natural protein, water, and other nutrients in prescribed quantities to supply lysine and tryptophan, fluid, and general requirements.

Storage Keep in a cool, dry place. Sachets are intended for single use and should be used as soon as they are opened. Unused powder in an open sachet should be stored in an airtight container or clipped shut and utilized within 24 hours.
