Bodypoint® center-pull four point padded hip belt with side release buckle attaches to the wheelchair in four places to assure that the pelvis does not move from an aligned, stable position and stays securely against the seat and back supports. Bodypoint® four point padded hip belt has extra points which prevent the belt from riding up into the abdomen or twisting and moving out of position making it ideal for anterior pelvic tilt, pelvic rotation and thrusting.
Seat mounting bracket (optional) provides an easy & secure way to mount belts to active wheelchairs. They are ideal for chairs with sling seat upholstery or a solid seat base. The 20° bracket is designed for mounting on the side of the seat tube, and the 90° bracket is great for mounting on top. Either configuration places the belt as close as possible to the user, for better fit.
FeaturesUser Issues: Fall risk, sacral sitting (or risk for), posterior or anterior pelvic tilt, pelvic obliquity/rotation | Product Examples: Two or four-point hip belt, with sub-ASIS pads (LB belts) if needed. With significant sliding risk or obliquity/rotation, consider a four-point belt or Evoflex®. |

Q. What is the purpose of a four-point padded hip belt?
A. Bodypoint® four-point hip belt keeps the pelvis in a stable, aligned
position during wheelchair use. It attaches in four places to prevent sliding,
pelvic tilt, or rotation—common risks for users with low muscle tone, thrusting,
or anterior pelvic tilt.
Q. How does this belt improve wheelchair safety and fit?
A. Primary straps position the belt, while secondary straps anchor it,
reducing movement and ride-up. This secure fit helps prevent falls and promotes
upright posture, supporting both safety and comfort during extended use.
Q. What sizes are available, and how do I choose the right one?
A. The belt comes in Small (46" total length), Medium (51" or 56"), and Large
(61"). Belt width ranges from 1" to 2". Select a size based on pelvic width and
wheelchair configuration. Reference the sizing chart or consult your clinician
for best fit.
Q. Is this belt compatible with all wheelchairs?
A. Yes, it works with most rigid or folding wheelchairs. Optional seat
mounting brackets (20° or 90°) make it easy to install on sling or solid seat
bases, allowing for custom positioning close to the pelvis.
Q. What makes Bodypoint’s design more comfortable and reliable?
A. It features resilient closed-cell foam for pressure relief, a soft
wrinkle-free lining for skin comfort, and a deeper D-ring that stays in
place—ideal for users with limited hand strength.
Q. Who should use a four-point hip belt?
A. It’s ideal for individuals at risk of sacral sitting, pelvic obliquity,
or forward thrusting. Common users include those with neurological or muscular
disorders needing pelvic stabilization for posture control and fall prevention.
